BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Cassidy Trabilcy, Nicole Karabaich, and Kendall Wilcox combined for 34 kills to pace Salve Regina University past the University of New England, 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-20), in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's volleyball regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 27) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Winners in 10 of their last 11 outings, the Seahawks improve to 20-8 overall and 6-2 in the CCC, securing the No.3 seed in the upcoming league tournament. The Nor'easters (10-17, 2-6 CCC) will be the seventh seed visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology when the championship starts on Tuesday.

Trabilcy and Karabaich shared the match-high of 12 kills, and Trabilcy added 13 digs. Wilcox supported with 10 kills for SRU. Erin Proctor posted a double-double of 37 assists and 11 digs, while notching six kills in six attempts. Megan Parham led the back-line effort with 20 digs.
UNE got eight kills from
Katie Flynn and seven more out of
Rene Roggenbuck.
Micaela McNamara contributed six kills and factored in four blocks.
Sydney Christiansen recorded a double-double of 23 assists and 10 digs, and chalked up five winners on seven tries.
Katie Marsh totaled 20 digs to equal the best of the day.
The Seahawks separated from a two-point spread in the opening set by closing with a 15-5 stretch. SRU was up by six late in the 2nd frame, but needed a winner from Karabaich at 24-22 to take the commanding edge in the contest. Salve built a seven-point cushion in the 3rd that was reduced to three (22-19) before holding off the Nor'easters to secure the match.
