SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Western New England University earned a 5-0 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer action at Suprenant Field on Saturday.
 
Western New England (10-6-2, 3-2-2 CCC) took a 3-0 lead into halftime after goals by Nick Liccardi, Dante Cancellaro, and Marr Remillard.
 
The Nor'easters (5-11-0, 2-5-0 CCC) surrendered an own goal early in the second. Sam Brewer connected on an unassisted score in the 64^th minute for the final margin.
 
The Golden Bears held a 25-7 advantage in total shots. Sam Farr and Flynn Willsea each had two shots to lead the Nor'easters. Goalkeeper Will Shearon made nine saves.
 
UNE will host Wentworth in a battle for the final CCC Tournament spot to close out the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Kickoff at Barbara J. Hazard Field is set for 6:30 p.m.
