LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College received a match-high 12 kills from Angel Echipue in a 3-0 decision (25-22, 25-12, 25-23) against the University of New England women's volleyball team on Tuesday evening (Oct. 2) at Alumni Gymnasium.

Taylor Stafford-Smith added eight winners for the Bobcats (6-4), who got seven kills and five block-assists from Claire Naughton. Julia Panepinto contributed four aces and put up 36 assists. Defensively, Gabi Eustache notched 27 digs and Olivia McCulloch registered 10 more.

For the Nor'easters (4-12), Rene Roggenbuck led all players with 13.5 points, which included 11 kills and a pair of solo blocks. Katie Flynn tallied eight kills with the aid of 27 assists by Sydney Christiansen, who also posted a team-best 18 digs. Katie Marsh and Molly Camelo supported the back-line efforts with 14 and 12 digs, respectively.

UNE is slated for a tri-match at Emmanuel College with Suffolk University on Saturday (12 p.m.).
