Eastern Nazarene sets back UNE with torrid accuracy

QUINCY, Mass. -- Eastern Nazarene College shot 70.6 percent (48-for-68) from the floor en route to a 128-102 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball result versus the University of New England on Tuesday night (Jan. 9) at the Lahue PE Center.

Josh Rice led the winning effort for the Lions (5-7, 1-4 CCC), dropping in 30 points on 11-of-13 field goals and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Noah Cheney followed with 27 points, before the 16 from Jacob Waldroop and 12 out of Brenndan Rogers.

The top four combined to make 22-of-24 on two-point attempts, and were nearly as effective (10-of-14) from deep.

For UNE (4-8, 2-3 CCC), Gavin Dibble paced four players in double figures with 14. Daron Hoges, Jr. and Jordan Bagshaw registered 11 apiece, and Jackson McCoy put in 10. Matt Lorman notched nine points and a team-best five rebounds.

Eastern Nazarene posted the initial 10 points of the evening and never looked back.

The Nor'easters will now prepare for Wentworth Institute of Technology on Thursday (7:30 p.m.) back at the Harold Alfond Forum.
