BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Western New England University reversed a 12-point, 1st-quarter deficit in a 70-62 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball decision against the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 13) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The Nor'easters (10-3, 6-1 CCC) overcame a slow start with a 16-2 run to get out in front (18-11) during the opening frame. The first six of the 2nd stretched the gap to its max, but WNEU got 10 of the next 12 to get within four (31-27). The spread was just that (UNE 36-32) at the intermission, once Western New England's Meghan Gilhool banked-in a half-court heave to beat the buzzer.
O'Neill tallied 14 in the 3rd, nearly matching UNE's team total (16), and Emily Farrell notched the last six points of the stanza (including a 4-point play) to flip the visitors ahead at 56-52.
The hosts could not get any closer than four (61-57, 66-62) in the 4th.

O'Neill, Gilhool, and Farrell shared the team-high of seven rebounds, and accounted for 9-of-15 accuracy from deep (rest of the team: 0-for-3).
