POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Taylor Stafford-Smith and Angel Echipue notched 11 kills apiece as Bates College rallied for a 3-1 victory (19-25, 25-11, 25-12, 25-15) against the University of New England on Friday night (Sep. 8) in women's volleyball action at the Vassar College Invitational.

The attack for the Bobcats (2-0) was steered by 39 assists from Jacqueline Forney. Augy Silver added seven aces, while defensively, Gabi Eustache and Stafford-Smith paired to total 36 digs (19 and 17, respectively).

For the Nor'easters (1-5), Paige Simoneau registered seven winners. Kristen Falcinelli had a double-double of 14 assists and 10 digs; 10 digs were also produced by Katie Marsh.

UNE will face the tournament hosts (11 a.m.) and Medaille College (1 p.m.) on Saturday.
