BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Grace Tepper dialed up a match-highs of 13 kills and nine digs to pace Emerson College in a 3-0 women's volleyball victory (25-14, 25-19-, 25-22) over the University of New England on Thursday night (Sep. 7) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The Lions (3-2) received nine winners from Kelley Guerra, who factored in five of the team's six blocks. Moira Brennan put up 26 assists in support, and Kayleen Bertrand dropped in seven of her side's 11 aces.

Bertrand recorded four of those service winners during a 7-0 spurt early in the 1st set that gave the visitors an 8-2 advantage. In the 2nd, Emerson held a 14-12 edge before taking five of the next six points to gain some separation (19-13). A fast start (8-2) for the Lions in the 3rd was reduced to as little as two (14-12, 18-16) by UNE, but a pair of kills by Guerra and three more from Tepper finished things off.

Casey Davies and Molly Camelo tallied six kills apiece for the Nor'easters (1-3), who were guided by 19 assists from Kristen Falcinelli. Katie Marsh had a team-best seven digs.

UNE gets right back to work this weekend at the Vassar College Invitational. Friday's action will feature contests with King's College (Pa.) and Bates College, while Saturday includes Vassar and Medaille College (N.Y.).
