BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Katie Beaudoin notched her second marker in the 49th minute, just 24 seconds after seeing her initial score matched, to send the University of New England towards a 4-1 women's soccer triumph over Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Friday night (Sep. 1) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

The Nor'easters (1-0) quickly tacked on two more goals in the next 11 minutes to gain a comfortable margin for the final 30 minutes. It was the fifth straight win for UNE against the Monks (0-1).

Beaudoin netted the only goal of the 1st half in the 38th minute, running onto a feed up the middle by Vanessa Hodge and finding space under the crossbar from just outside the box [Watch].

St. Joe's knotted the contest in the 48th minute as Lauren Stiles gathered a loose ball in the box and found the lower right side of the cage.

Ashley Sherman set up Beaudoin's game-winner with a pass into the middle from the left wing, and Beaudoin ripped a 20-yard shot into the upper left corner [Watch].

UNE then earned a free kick 30 yards out in the 51st minute, and Brianna Cota bent a high boot over the keeper and off the left post to make it 3-1 [Watch]. The Nor'easters pushed the margin to three in the 59th minute, when a free kick from the left sideline by Jessie Maywalt bounced twice through the box and Becca Murphy tapped it home near the right post [Watch].

Emily Ashman held the visitors off the board during the opening period with two saves, and Jenna Pannone closed things out with four following halftime.

For the Monks, Brooke Troup registered five stops.

The Nor'easters will be on the road for their next four, beginning with a date at Wheaton College (Mass.) on Sunday (3 p.m.).
