MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University JV-squad rolled to a 50-0 result against the University of New England football team on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 8) at Zimman Field.
UNE is in the midst of a season's worth of games against collegiate junior varsity programs and prep schools, prior to starting its full varsity schedule and membership in
Commonwealth Coast Football in 2018.
Brian Peters and
Peyton Phillips combined for 15 completed passes and 66 yards through the air. The majority of those went in the direction of
Haelin Roberts, who hauled in six receptions for 30 yards.
Danny Parker topped the ground game with eight yards on six carries.
The Nor'easters' defensive unit received nine tackles from
Nick Scarfo, and eight more out of both
Mitchell Hennings and
Joey Curit.
UNE will head for Bridgton Academy on Saturday (1 p.m.) for its first of three contests against prep schools.
