BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England and Colby College played 110 minutes of scoreless women's soccer resulting in a 0-0, double overtime tie on Wednesday night (Oct. 4) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
The Mules (3-4-2) narrowly out-shot the Nor'easters (5-5-1)Â in the match, 19-18, while holding a 13-7 edge in corner kicks.
Both sides had their best chances following regulation. In the 91st minute, Colby found space breaking into the right side of the box, but UNE goalkeeper
Jenna Pannone got her fingertips on a low shot towards the far post and sent it trickling fractionally wide. Then, in the 102nd, the Nor'easters were able to tee one up from the top of the box, however it whistled just left of the frame.
Pannone and her Colby counterpart, Shannon Gray, were solid between the pipes to total nine and 10 saves, respectively.
UNE will get back to work on Saturday (12 p.m.) with a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
