BEVERLY, Mass. -- After more than 100 minutes of scoreless action, Brendan McLaughlin gave No.1 Endicott College a 1-0 result against eighth-seeded University of New England in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday night (Oct. 28) at Hempstead Stadium.
Just 1:05 into the second extra period, Diego Maillo crossed a ball into the middle and McLaughlin's header slipped under the UNE keeper for the deciding marker.
The Gulls (11-4-3) advance to square off with No.4 Wentworth Institute of Technology (a 2-1 winner over Salve Regina) in the semifinals on Tuesday.Â
