Gulls fly past UNE in straight sets

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Emma Mancini racked up 20.5 points to pace Endicott College in a 3-0 decision (25-18, 25-14, 25-13) over the University of New England on Wednesday night (Oct. 18) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The Gulls (15-9, 6-1 CCC) got 16 kills and four service aces out of Mancini, while Nicole Winkler chipped in with nine winners and a .692 attack percentage. Zoey Gifford notched a double-double of 33 assists and 14 digs.

Rene Roggenbuck and Molly Camelo each had five kills for the Nor'easters (9-12, 3-3 CCC). Camelo and Katie Marsh both totaled eight digs. Sydney Christiansen put up 10 assists.

Endicott gained the advantage for good at 5-4 in the 1st set, starting what turned into a 10-3 run. The Gulls never trailed in the 2nd, and gained separation from a 9-7 advantage in the 3rd with 13 of the next 17 points.

UNE heads for Western New England University (2-4 CCC) on Saturday (1 p.m.).
