Box Score

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The undefeated Clark University men's soccer team scored a pair of goals in the second half to break open a scoreless match and take a 2-0 win over the University of New England in a non-conference game played Tuesday night (Sept. 28) at Granger Soccer Turf.

Demetri Boumis came off the bench to score the game-winner for Clark in the 61st minute. He headed home a long throw-in by Trevor Sheridan that bounced between a pair of UNE defenders. The Cougars (9-0-0) would add an insurance goal in the 79th minute when Jonathan Guilherme made a great individual play before sending a shot into the right side of the net.

Clark controlled played much of the evening, registering a 22-3 advantage in shots and taking all six of the game's corner kicks. Goalkeeper Alistair Richard was credited with the shutout.

Nate Delesdernier stopped three shots for the Nor'easters (1-4-5), who will face Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Gordon College Saturday on the road (3 p.m.).
