SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The University of New England women's soccer team extended its season-opening win streak to three games with a 3-0 shutout of Western New England University in a Commonwealth Coast Conference mutual opener Saturday afternoon (Sept. 10) at Suprenant Field.

The Nor'easters would get all the scoring they would need early in the contest when Becca Murphy set-up Meader in the fifth minute. Goalkeeper Brielle Robinson was credited with a secondary assist on the play.

UNE doubled its lead in the 37th minute when Wolfenden put home a cross from Jessica Maywalt.

Beaudoin added an unassisted goal early in the second frame to complete the scoring.

The Nor'easters, who led 18-5 in shots, received four saves from Robinson as she recorded her 16th career individual shutout. Alexandra Lemekha and Marissa Veilleux combined to make 11 stops WNE.

UNE will play host to Wheaton College on Tuesday evening. Start time at Barbara J. Hazard Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.
