SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Logan Pingree broke a scoreless tie with a pair of second-half goals to give Western New England a 2-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer win over the University of New England Saturday afternoon (Sept. 10) at Suprenant Field.

The Golden Bears (1-3-0, 1-0-0 CCC) collected their first win of the season, while the Nor'easters dropped a game below the .500 mark to 1-2-1 (0-1-0). 

Both of Pingree's goals were unassisted. The first (and game-winner) came five minutes into the second half, and he would later add an insurance goal in the 81st minute.

Kevin Strobel needed just two saves in goal for Western New England to register the shutout. Elijah Leverett turned away eight shots for the Nor'easters.

Next up for UNE is a Wednesday night home match versus Bates College (8 p.m.).
