BIDDEFORD, Maine -- On Senior Day at Barbara J. Hazard Field, Anna Michaud scored in the first half and Peyton Janelle tallied in the final minute, as the University of New England blanked Nichols College, 2-0, in women's soccer action Saturday afternoon (Oct. 15).

The victory keeps the Nor'easters unbeaten in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at 5-0-1 (9-3-1 overall) and is the fifth consecutive win for UNE over the Bison (3-10-1, 0-6-0 CCC).

The Nor'easters received all the scoring they would need for victory in the 30th minute on a set piece. Katelyn Pierson found Michaud breaking down the left side and Michaud lofted a left-footed high shot from 20 yards out just inside the far post.

UNE peppered Nichols keeper Brooke Downey in the second half but was unable to pad its lead until the final minute when Janelle cleaned up a rebound of a shot by Jessica Meader that Downey had made a brilliant stop on. The marker was Janelle's first collegiate goal [Watch].

The Nor'easters out-shot Nichols 22-4 for the afternoon, including a 13-1 margin after intermission.

Brielle Robinson needed a pair of stops to record her 20th career individual shutout, while Downey finished with 12 saves.
