WATERVILLE, Maine -- Kyle Douglas scored early in the match to give the Colby College Mules a 1-0 win over the University of New England in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday night (Oct. 11) at Harold Alfond Stadium.

Douglas provided the lone tally 7:58 into the contest, converting a strike from 14 yards out that went inside the far post from the right portion of the box. Brandon Fahlberg had an assist on the play.

After being held without a shot in the first half, UNE totaled six after halftime but was unable to find the equalizer. For the match Colby held a 20-6 advantage in that category. Stanley Clarke needed a pair of stops to record the shutout for the Mules (5-6-2).

Nate Delesdernier and Tom Benoit each played a half in goal for UNE and combined for four saves. The Nor'easters (2-8-4) will return to Commonwealth Coast Conference action Saturday when they host Nichols College at 1 p.m.
