BRISTOL, R.I. -- Grayson Szczepaniak, Erika Sawicki, and Rene Roggenbuck combined for 38 kills to pace the University of New England women's volleyball team in a 3-1 triumph over Western Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 1) at the Roger Williams University Invitational. The match was tight throughout, with set scores of 24-26, 25-21, 29-27, and 25-22.

Szczepaniak had a team-high 14 winners for the Nor'easters (9-6), who were guided by 43 assists from Kristen Falcinelli. Brittany Morrison racked up a career-high 37 digs, while Nikki Mathewson and Paige Simoneau each added 14. Sawicki posted a double-double by tallying 12 digs to pair with 12 kills.

Karissa Smith dialed up a match-best 20 kills for the Colonials (9-7), and picked up 24 digs. Cady Cordes totaled 31 digs, and Danielle Kaminsky resitered 35 assists to go with 16 digs.
