DUDLEY, Mass. -- Marcos Echevarria and Irving Eggleston went for 25 and 20 points, respectively, as Nichols College defeated the University of New England by a 100-66 margin in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action on Tuesday evening (Jan. 12).

Echevarria canned all four of his three-pointers and totaled 21 in the opening half to set the Bison (10-3, 4-2 CCC) on their way. After Eggleston, Gustave Koumare had 11 of 17 points before halftime to go with seven rebounds and six assists. Devin Stallings contributed 14 points and six boards, while Christian Horton added seven points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

Nichols shot 47.8 percent from the floor and made 12 from deep plus 24 at the line.

For the Nor'easters (8-5, 3-3 CCC), Jean-Luc Parker recorded 10 points and Drew Coveney had nine.

The Bison had an 8-6 edge early on, until 10 from Echevarria spurred a 16-5 stretch that sent the spread into double digits for good. The gap was 51-28 at halftime.

UNE returns to Biddeford on Thursday (7:30 p.m.) for a match with Eastern Nazarene College (3-3 CCC).
