POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Erika Sawicki registered a career-best 12 kills and the University of New England women's volleyball team connected at a .341 attacking clip on the way to a 3-0 win over Lehman College on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 5) at Kenyon Hall on the campus of Vassar College. Set scores were 25-14, 25-11, and 25-15.

After Sawicki and her .562 hitting percentage, the Nor'easters (1-1) received another 12 total points from Courtney Lambrese, largely behind nine kills. Grayson Szczepaniak and Emily Rumery combined for 13 winners, while Kristen Falcinelli tallied 26 assists and Erica Doubleday added 10 helpers.

UNE, which totaled eight aces and six blocks as a group, also got 10-dig defensive efforts from Nikki Mathewson and Brittany Morrison.

The Lightning (1-2) were led by a match-high 13 kills from Jo-Marie Aquino, who also racked up 10 digs. Imani Dubois posted 19 assists and Salveira Gonzalez finished with six kills and 10 digs.

The Nor'easters are back in Biddeford on Tuesday (6:30 p.m.) to face Bowdoin College.
