The Eagles (3-7), who fell for the sixth straight outing, received a team-high five kills and two solo blocks from Bailey Cote. Marissa Johnson totaled 12 assists. Kaitlyn Carl ended with 11 digs and Kaitlyn Woods contributed eight more.

After surrendering the first three points of the opening set, UNE built an 8-4 edge. Husson rallied to tie things at 10-10, but a winner by Rumery on the next point put the hosts in front for good. The margin was still one (16-15) before a 9-2 spurt established some separation.

It was knotted at 3-3 in the 2nd frame before Rumery again gave Big Blue the edge, spurring an 8-1 run to gain control of the stanza. The gap was no less than six the rest of the way.

In the 3rd set, Husson jumped out to a 7-3 lead. The Nor'easters immediately tied it up at 7-7, and five points later, Lambrese nudged UNE ahead (10-9) with her ninth kill of the match. It was the first of a 12-3 stretch that put things out of reach.

The Nor'easters hit the road for a date with Colby College on Wednesday (7 p.m.). The Eagles will resume play on Tuesday (7 p.m.) at Maine Maritime Academy.
