Box Score

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Courtney Blake (CCC 1st Team) and No. 3 Endicott College held No. 6 University of New England scoreless in Game 11 (of 13) of the 2015 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Softball Championship, advancing into the finals of the double elimination tournament with a 4-0 decision on Saturday (May 2) at Golden Bear Park on the campus of Western New England University.

The Gulls (18-18) stay alive with their one loss and move into Game 12 to meet the top-seeded hosts, who remain with zero losses in the tournament.

The Nor'easters conclude the season with a record of 20-20 -- their ninth straight year of at least 20 victories.

Blake conceded seven hits and no walks while striking out a pair to improve her personal ledger to 16-4.

Emily Hoffman had a team-high two hits for Endicott, including the go-ahead solo home run to center field in the bottom of the 2nd.

Hoffman also accounted for the run that made it 2-0 in favor of the Gulls in the 4th, scoring from second base on a two-out single by Kayla Sheldon.

Endicott doubled the margin with two away in the 5th on a two-RBI single by Julia McNeill (CCC 3rd Team). EC threatened to get more, but left the bases loaded.

UNE came close to putting one on the board in the 6th, however the third out of the stanza was recorded on a single to center field and a throw out at the plate with a runner attempting to score from second.

The Nor'easters had first and second with one down in the 7th to try and extend the game, but could not advance the runners any further.

Casie Beauchemin and Jamie Corda (CCC 2nd Team) each had a single and a run scored for the Gulls.

Katelyn Austin took the setback in the circle for UNE, dropping to 7-6 on the season. Sydney Helmbrecht (CCC 2nd Team) had a pair of singles for Big Blue against Blake.
