DUDLEY, Mass. -- Zachary Lemire scored in the 24th minute to provide the Nichols College Bison with a 1-0 win over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon (Oct. 3) at Vendetti Field.

Lemire notched the only goal of the day, putting home a rebound of a shot from Cooper Milano that was saved by UNE keeper Elijah Leverett. Lemire's conversion into the empty net was his fifth marker of the season.

The Bison (6-6, 3-1 CCC), who led 7-2 in shots in the first half, had to hold UNE off late as the Nor'easters had a couple of bids to tie the match in the final few minutes.

Alex Geas was credited with five saves in the win, while Leverett finished with six for UNE.

The Nor'easters (2-8, 0-4) will look to return to the win column Tuesday when they host Johnson & Wales University at 5 p.m.
