Hazard Field on Saturday (Oct. 24).
After neither team was able to tally in the opening 45 minutes, the Nor'easters got their offense cranked up in the early stages of the second frame. Senior
Will Bushey gave UNE a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute, heading home a cross from the right side by classmate
Tyler Garnick.
UNE would double its lead less than three minutes later when first-year Connor McCarthy tucked in shot from close range after Eastern Nazarene keeper David Eddings had deflected away a cross by juniorÂ
Ryan Stephens.
Â
The Nor'easters struck again less than two minutes after McCarthy's marker. Garnick sent in a beautiful service from the left corner that sophomore
Nick Paine got a head on to direct into the net.
UNE continued to apply heavy pressure the rest of the way, but would have to settle for a three-goal margin for the final outcome.
Senior
Nate Diffin drew the start and was credited with five saves for the Nor'easters, who led 22-7 in shots.

The Lions had their best scoring chance of the afternoon in the 27th minute. Junior Elly Buford hit the post, and a follow-up attempt by sophomore Andrew Nelson was cleared off the goal line by a UNE defender.
Eddings had six stops in 60:39 of playing time for ENC before junior Jameson McFarland came on to register five saves to close out the match.
UNE (4-14-0, 1-7-0 CCC) will close out its season Tuesday when Roger Williams University comes to Biddeford for a 4 p.m. kick-off. The Lions (8-8-1, 0-7-1) host Wentworth Institute of Technology at 5:30 p.m. that same day.
