The opening set swung back-and-forth until three straight points put Endicott up, 23-19. Lambrese answered with back-to-back winners but a kill for the Gulls established set-point. The Nor'easters took advantage of the ensuing service error and paired a Szczepaniak kill with an ace by Morrison to level the score at 24-all. After Sheehan gave EC an edge, two errors shifted UNE in front, but a service error and two blocks by Knapp & Co. finished off the frame.
Endicott capitalized on five UNE errors early in the second to jump out to a 7-2 cushion, and built the margin to 17-5 to secure a two-set lead.
The Gulls trailed 6-5 in the third but struck for five in-a-row (10-6) and never looked back. Then a 4-1 spurt increased the gap to 19-11 and sent the visitors on their way.
EC returns home to face Western New England University on Saturday (12 p.m.). The same afternoon (1 p.m.), Big Blue is scheduled to visit Salve Regina University.
