Box Score

WENHAM, Mass. -- Josh Beveridge scored the only goal of the match early in the second overtime period to give the Gordon College Fighting Scots a 1-0 win over the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer match on the turf at Brigham Athletic Complex Wednesday night (Oct. 21).

The victory ensures the Fighting Scots (11-3, 6-1 CCC) retain a share of second-place in the conference standings. Gordon entered the evening ranked seventh in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III New England Region poll.

Beveridge's game-winner came when he came into the middle of the box from the left side and guided in a shot after Tyler Modzeleski had played the ball into the center of the box from the right side.

The Fighting Scots had the better part of the stat sheet, establishing margins of 21-4 in shots and 9-0 in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Josh Spoonhour did not have to make a stop as he earned the shutout.
