Box ScorePhotosBIDDEFORD, Maine -- The Colby College Mules tallied a goal in each half on their way to a 2-0 men's soccer win over the University of New England in a non-conference game played Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 13) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.
The Mules (3-6-2) would get the only goal they would need on a set piece in the 27th minute. Dan Vogel sent in a long free kick from the right sideline that Jeffrey Rosenberg one-timed home from in front of the goal mouth.
Colby added an insurance goal early in the second half when Lucas Pereira converted a rebound off a saved shot by Grady Jendzejec. Rosenburg had started Jendzejec's scoring opportunity with a pass from the left side of the goal.
The Mules controlled play for much of the match to take a 17-4 advantage in shots and 10-2 margin in corner kicks. Goalkeeper John Pappas needed a pair of saves to record the shutout.

Jake Rostkowski split time in goal for UNE and combined to make five stops.
The Nor'easters (2-11) are back in action Thursday when they host Clark University at 7 p.m. Colby welcomes No. 2 Amherst College to Mayflower Hill Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
