Box ScorePhoto GalleryBIDDEFORD, Maine -- Junior midfielder Kyle Barsalou scored with 1:09 gone in double overtime to give Babson College a 5-4 non-conference men's lacrosse victory over the University of New England on Thursday afternoon (Mar. 27) at the Big Blue Turf.
After a dodge at the top of the box, Barsalou put his second marker of the contest just inside the right post for the game-winner.
The Beavers improve to 4-5 on the year, while the Nor'easters slip back to 3-6 overall.
The teams were never separated by more than one score all day, as each side tallied a goal per period during regulation. Babson had the best look at ending things In the first extra session, but UNE first-year goalie
Joe Medel stuffed a point-blank try by senior Alex Packer just off the left post.
Barsalou finished with four points, setting up both goals that sophomore Scott Doten netted after halftime. Packer opened the game with a goal of his own less than seven minutes into the match.
Senior Adam Daroff turned away 17 shots to backstop the Beavers. Junior Christian Cattaruzza had team-highs of five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Dan O'Gorman and
Patrick Wolfe, and first-year
Dan Auger. Junior
Geoff Bruno added a pair of assists.
Medel posted 14 saves between the pipes for Big Blue. Sophomore
Nick George scooped up a game-best seven ground balls, and junior
Steven Hughes had five caused turnovers.
Babson -- which finished with a 39-33 edge in shots -- is slated to visit Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday (7 p.m.).
UNE heads to Salve Regina University for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) game the same afternoon (3 p.m.).
