BIDDEFORD, Maine -- A pair of early goals by junior Jackie Dickerson started second-seeded University of New England on its way to a 5-0 win over No. 7 Emmanuel College in a quarterfinal round match of the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Soccer Championship, which was played Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 12) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

The Nor'easters (12-4-2) advance into the semifinals to host No. 3 Westfield State University (a 3-0 winner over sixth-seeded Wentworth Institute of Technology) on Friday at 3 p.m.

With the setback, the Saints conclude the year with a record of 13-11-0.

Dickerson opened the scoring six minutes in, receiving a chip over the defense from sophomore Taylor Littlefield and touching it around the Emmanuel goalie.

At the 20:24 mark, she converted her team-leading 10th marker of the year. UNE sophomore keeper Brielle Robinson launched a high punt that first-year Becca Murphy headed up the right side from the center circle, finding Dickerson in-stride to then angle a shot just inside the far post.

Big Blue senior Margaret Palmer made it 3-0 in the 40th minute, knocked in a loose ball from the middle of the box.

Murphy bumped the gap to four in the 51st minute, taking a cross from first-year Edie Pallozzi in the left corner and sliding one inside the near post.

UNE capped the scoring in the 69th minute, as junior Tori Field sent a chip from the top of the box into open space on the right side of the net, and senior Kaitlyn Hall just got a flick on it before the Saints' keeper.

The Nor'easters out-shot Emmanuel by a 24-10 count, and had all eight of the game's corner kicks.

Robinson made two saves for UNE before exiting the contest in the 77th minute. Sophomore Emily Richard posted one stop the rest of the way.

Saints first-year Victoria Laroche turned aside 10 shots in a little more than 71 minutes of work.
