UNE, Curry end regular season with 0-0 draw

MILTON, Mass. -- Both the University of New England and Curry College ended their regular seasons on Tuesday (Oct. 28), playing to a 0-0 double-overtime tie in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer match at Walter M. Katz Field.

The Nor'easters now stand at 11-3-2 (5-2-2 CCC) heading into the playoffs, while Curry is 11-6-2 (1-6-2 CCC) and awaits word on a potential ECAC bid.

UNE doubled-up the Colonels in shots, 26-13, and also had four corner kicks compared to zero for the Colonels. Brielle Robinson needed seven saves to register her second shutout of the season for Big Blue. She had a pair of diving stops in the second half to help force overtime.

Morgan Stott offered an impressive performance in goal for the Colonels, turning aside a career-best 19 shots, including eight during the extra periods.

The Nor'easters are seeded fourth for the CCC Championship and will host No. 5 Gordon College at Barbara J. Hazard Field on Saturday at noon. The Fighting Scots took a 2-0 win over UNE on Sept. 20 in the regular-season meeting between the two teams. The championship continues with the semifinal round Nov. 4 and the title game on Nov. 8.
