Moore's game-winner came off a feed from junior Tori Armishaw, who drove down towards the right endline and centered the ball to Moore in front. Wentworth's leading scorer and recently-named first team all-conference performer trapped the pass and put her second touch into the lower left corner.
Big Blue, which had the majority of the quality chances that did not find the back of the net, finally broke through at the 89:58 mark. One last push sent first-year
Jessica Meader down the right-center of the field, and when her low shot towards the far post was saved back into play, junior
Lindsey Monaco was there at the left post to punch home the equalizer. It was the first goal of the year for the defender named second team all-conference on Friday.
Meader had nearly tied the contest nine minutes earlier, bouncing a shot just wide left. In the 71st minute, UNE had a try from close range that was turned away by a Wentworth player on the goal line, and the rebound from the same spot was flicked just high. The Nor'easters doubled up the Leopards in shots (12-6) during the second frame, and posted a 5-1 edge in corners.
After Wentworth junior goalie Nicole Leahey smothered a point-blank attempt from UNE junior
Kaitlyn Hall running in on the right side in the 17th minute, the visitors began to sustain some play and get off some shots of their own. and moved ahead in the 35th minute. Moore set up the play, driving down the right to the endline before lofting a cross towards the far post. The ball found the head of Mykaela Scarpace, who directed it back into the right side of the cage.
For the game, Leahey totaled nine stops, while her counterpart on the other end, UNE first-year
Brielle Robinson, recorded seven saves.
The two sides had played to a 2-2 double overtime tie in the regular-season finale on Wednesday.
