Thompson's 24 points was a career best for the UNE rookie, and he has now scored 20 or more points in three of his first seven collegiate outings. He was 10 of 17 from the floor and added three steals.

Charles Fenner III scored nine points for the Nor'easters, and Jake Abel added eight to go with five assists. Jesse Dykstra snared a game-high 11 rebounds to record double digits in that category for the third straight outing.

The host Seahawks raced out of the gates early, with Doug Henton scoring five straight points and Pringle adding a jumper to give Salve a 7-0 lead just 2:08 into the tilt.

After UNE recovered to close within two at 10-8, Salve Regina reeled off 12 consecutive points to forge a 22-8 advantage. Four different players scored during the surge.

The Seahawks would go on to take a 42-23 cushion into intermission after shooting a torrid 59.3 percent (16 of 27) from the floor, compared to 34.6 percent (9 of 26) marksmanship for UNE.

Salve's lead would crest at 24 (51-27) early in the second frame before the Nor'easters rallied back to get within 10 (63-53) on a layup by Thompson with 4:34 remaining.
