MILTON, Mass. -- Senior Nicholas Lawless (Hull, Mass.) broke a 1-all tie with a score in the 66th minute, giving the Curry College Colonels a 2-1 win over the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer match played Wednesday (Oct. 3) evening at Walter M. Katz Field.
The victory improves the Colonels' record to 8-4 overall, 2-2 in conference play. The Nor'easters drop back below .500 at 5-6 (1-3 CCC).
The first goal of the game came courtesy of a diving header by senior Eric Guglielmello (Paxton, Mass.), who converted a cross from classmate Devin Sadlers (Somerset, Mass.) to give Curry a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute.

Anthony Frangione (Barnstead, N.H.) put the ball in play and connected with junior
Matthew Christie (Hudson, N.H.). Christie one-timed the service into the back of the net for his second marker of the season.
Sophomore Nick Gilman (Longmeadow, Mass.) set-up the game-winning goal, which was the sixth tally of the year for Lawless, tying him with Guglielmello for the team lead.
Senior goalkeeper Nick Barber (Pittsfield, Mass.) had four saves for the Colonels, who held large margins in both shots (34-11) and corner kicks (10-4). Barber came up with a save on a breakaway with five minutes remaining to preserve the victory.
Sophomore
Aidan McParland (Brockville, Ontario) turned aside a career-best 16 shots for the Nor'easters, who host Salve Regina University Saturday (Oct. 6) at 3:30 p.m.
