Box Score

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) totaled 14 kills to lead the University of New England in a 3-0 victory over Curry College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's volleyball match played Wednesday evening (Oct. 10) at the Harold Alfond Forum. Set scores were 25-12, 25-6, and 25-20.

With their fourth straight win, the Nor'easters (4-2 CCC) move to 11-5 on the year. The Colonels (0-6 CCC) fell for the eighth consecutive outing, back to 7-10 overall.

Junior setter Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) did a little bit of everything for Big Blue in support of the winning effort, finishing the night with eight service aces, five kills, 26 assists, and six digs. Senior Jillian Goldstein (Lynnfield, Mass.) and junior Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) each contributed seven kills in two sets of action, and junior Kirsta Adie (Tyngsboro, Mass.) ended with a team-high eight digs.

For Curry, sophomore Courtney DiBiasio (Coventry, R.I.) led the way with five kills and five digs. Classmate Hannah Robison (Cumberland, R.I.) dished out 10 assists to aid the attack, while junior Tyla Miller (Marshfield, Mass.) accumulated a match-best 10 digs.

After breezing through the first two frames, the Nor'easters trailed by as many as two points on five occasions as the third set progressed. A Colonels serving error leveled things at 20-20, and UNE put away five quick points to seal the deal.

Both side are set to take part in tri-matches on Saturday. Big Blue will entertain Eastern Connecticut State University (1 p.m.) and the University of Southern Maine (3 p.m.), while Curry heads to Mount Ida College for a pair with Regis College (12 p.m.) and the Mustangs (2 p.m.).
