SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Sophomore Tessa Smolinski (Hebron, Conn.) recorded a match-high 10 kills to lead host Springfield College to a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-13, 26-24) over the University of New England Nor'easters in the third match for both teams at the 2011 Springfield College Invitational on Saturday morning at Blake Arena.

Sophomore Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) paced the visiting Nor'easters with nine kills while junior Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) chipped in eight. Sophomore setter Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) contributed 19 assists and seven digs, and senior Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) matched Springfield's Itza Nieves (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) with a match-best 12 digs.

The Pride (3-0) hit .247 for the match, compared to just .118 for the Nor'easters (0-3).
