GORHAM, Maine -- The University of New England women's soccer team shut out its seventh opponent of the season Tuesday afternoon, defeating the University of Southern Maine by a score of 4-0 at Hannaford Field.
Without a loss in their last four games (3-0-1), the Nor'easters improve to 7-1-1 on the season. UNE, which controlled play throughout and finished well ahead in the shot (16-0) and corner kick (7-0) categories, have now downed the Huskies in four consecutive meetings between the teams.

Lauren Blaisdell (Scarborough, Maine) put the visitors in front early with an unassisted goal 3:34 into the match. Senior
Sarah Richardson (Rochester, N.H.) doubled the advantage in the 16th minute, getting an assist from junior
Nicole Faircloth (Westfield, Mass.), and senior
Katie Caron (Winslow, Maine) tallied her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 29th minute to send UNE into the break up 3-0.
Caron added another in the second half -- a header off a Faircloth cross -- to provide the final margin.

Jess Woodworth (Concord, N.H.) and first-year
Sarah Papapietro (Bonita, Calif.) shared the clean sheet for the Nor'easters, logging 69 and 21 minutes, respectively.
USM senior Kat Rothe (Leeds, Maine) made six saves for hosts (2-7-0), who are set to take on UMass Boston on Saturday.
Big Blue gets back to CCC play the same day with a road trip to Nichols College (3 p.m.).
