GORHAM, Maine -- Junior Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) tallied seven kills and six aces, and first-year Leah Janelle (Madbury, N.H.) also had seven kills to help the University of New England to a 3-0 win over the University of Southern Maine in a non-conference women's volleyball match contested Thursday evening at Hill Gymnasium. The set scores were 25-7, 25-10, and 25-13.

The victory improves UNE to 3-9 on the year, while the Huskies remain winless in five outings.

Big Blue totaled 21 services aces on the night, with sophomores Ashley Thibodeau (Nashua, N.H.) and Kirsta Adie (Tyngsboro, Mass.) tossing in five and four, respectively. Classmate Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) helped pace the attack with 13 assists.

Senior Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) and sophomore Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) combined for 13 digs for the Nor'easters, who visit Wentworth Institute of Technology next Wednesday.
