BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Bowdoin College received nine kills apiece from senior Kristin Hanczor (Redding, Conn.) and junior Melissa Haskell (Medfield, Mass.) as the Polar Bears defeated the University of New England, 3-0, in non-conference women's volleyball action Tuesday evening at the Campus Center. The set scores were 25-16, 25-17, and 25-15.
Junior Hillary Cederna (Cumberland, Maine) punched down six kills in support for Bowdoin, which moves to 4-1 on the year. Sophomore Sophia Cornew (Portola Valley, Calif.) tallied 29 assists to fuel the attack. Haskell, along with senior Jillian Berkman (Nashville, Tenn.), each recorded nine digs.
For the Nor'easters (1-7), junior
Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) had a team-high six kills on the night. Senior
Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) chipped in with kills, and sophomore
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) notched 14 assists. Davis also finished with a team-best seven digs.
