BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Bowdoin College received nine kills apiece from senior Kristin Hanczor (Redding, Conn.) and junior Melissa Haskell (Medfield, Mass.) as the Polar Bears defeated the University of New England, 3-0, in non-conference women's volleyball action Tuesday evening at the Campus Center. The set scores were 25-16, 25-17, and 25-15.

Junior Hillary Cederna (Cumberland, Maine) punched down six kills in support for Bowdoin, which moves to 4-1 on the year. Sophomore Sophia Cornew (Portola Valley, Calif.) tallied 29 assists to fuel the attack. Haskell, along with senior Jillian Berkman (Nashville, Tenn.), each recorded nine digs.

For the Nor'easters (1-7), junior Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) had a team-high six kills on the night. Senior Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) chipped in with kills, and sophomore Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) notched 14 assists. Davis also finished with a team-best seven digs.

UNE returns to action on Thursday as Saint Joseph's College (Maine) pays a visit to Biddeford, with a new start time of 6:30 p.m. Once again this year, fans can sign-up to watch all of the action LIVE on Nor'easters All-Access -- the webcasting service provided by the UNE Sports Information Office in partnership with SIDEARM Sports.

The Polar Bears are back at home on Friday, when they begin NESCAC play against Colby College at 7 p.m.
