WATERVILLE, Maine -- The University of New England notched six goals after the intermission to pull away from Thomas College to a 7-0 non-conference victory in women's soccer action Monday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Big Blue, which has now defeated the Terriers in the last 10 meetings between the teams, improves to 4-0 on the year. Thomas remains winless in five contests.

The Nor'easters controlled play throughout, and finally broke through after 37:03 on an unassisted marker by junior Emily Lodge (Lyman, Maine). UNE fired off 24 shots and gained 10 corner kicks in the opening frame, while holding the hosts to none in either category, but only led 1-0 heading into intermission.

Senior Alice Read (Auburn, Maine) set-up first-year Marlie Mochamer (Farmington, Maine) in the 57th minute to begin the second-half scoring, and Read followed it up with one of her own in the 64th minute. Senior Sarah Richardson (Rochester, N.H.) assisted on the play.

Lodge added an assist to a goal by first-year Rachel McDevitt (Underhill, Vt.) in the 77th minute, before rookie Kaitlyn Hall (Dayton, Maine) tallied back-to-back goals inside the final 10 minutes. Sophomore Alex Wells (Franconia, N.H.) registered an assist on the second one and then scored one for herself to close things out, sending in a feed from first-year Jayne Kelly (Hooksett, N.H.).

On the day, UNE finished on top of a 49-1 margin in shot attempts, and a 14-0 cushion in corners. Thomas, which next hosts Husson University on Saturday, received 20 saves from sophomore goalie Kate Tibodeau (Woolwich, Maine).

Big Blue senior starter Jess Woodworth (Concord, N.H.) stopped the only shot directed at her in 75 minutes of action. The Nor'easters return home to entertain Colby College on Wednesday (6 p.m.).
