BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England upped its unbeaten streak to seven games on Saturday with a 9-1, 11-2 doubleheader sweep of Eastern Nazarene College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference softball action at Claude Dubois Field.

The Nor'easters improve to 9-5 on the season, and sit at 4-0 in league games. After four straight conference wins, the Lions fall back to 6-10 overall (4-2 TCCC).

First-year Amanda Vaudreuil (Windham, N.H.) led the offense for UNE, with five hits on the day. Classmate Allison Frazier (Tewksbury, Mass.) had four hits in four at-bats, along with four runs scored and three RBI.

Sophomore Casey Brigham (New London, Conn.) added four runs batted in on two hits, and junior Ashley Gott (Winterport, Maine) contributed three hits and three runs scored.

UNE junior Erin Lyons (Salem, N.H.) recorded the win in the opener, striking out four in five innings of work. After Eastern Nazarene tied things at 1-1 in the top half of the second inning, the Big Blue bats provided all the support she would need with four runs in the bottom of the frame and four more in the fourth inning.

In game two, the Nor'easters plated five in the bottom of the second to grab a 6-0 cushion and received five solid innings from junior Julie Bigelow (Montpelier, Vt.), who scattered three hits over five innings and struck out four.

For the Lions (6-10, 4-2), first-year Taylor Flemming (Upland, Ind.) recorded a pair of hits on the afternoon, including a triple to the fence in right-center during the second game.

UNE is back in action Tuesday (3:30 p.m.) with a non-conference doubleheader against the University of Southern Maine. Eastern Nazarene visits TCCC foe Curry College on Wednesday (3 p.m.).
