WENHAM, Mass. -- The University of New England racked up 33 runs over 11 innings during a 14-3, 19-2 doubleheader sweep of Gordon College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference softball action Friday afternoon.

Amber Zablowsky (Rochester, Mass.) worked five innings to get the victory for the Nor'easters (7-5, 2-0 TCCC) in game one, while junior
Julie Bigelow (Montpelier, Vt.) took game two, which was shortened to six innings.

Ashley Gott (Winterport, Maine) paced the offense, going a combined 6-for-8 during the twinbill, including a home run and a double. The catcher also tallied six runs scored and five runs batted in.
The Fighting Scots drop to 3-7 overall with losses, and sit at 0-2 in league play.
Big Blue is set for its home opener on Saturday against Eastern Nazarene College. The first pitch of game one is slated for 12 p.m.
