FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The University of New England won its third straight behind seven strong innings from junior Erin Lyons (Salem, N.H.) and closed out the Spring Break trip to Florida with a 3-0 shutout of Hamilton College at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Softball Classic Friday afternoon.

Lyons struck out five while giving up four hits and a walk to get her record to 2-2, and move the Nor'easters up to 5-5 overall. The Continentals drop to 1-5 with the loss.

UNE first-year Allison Frazier (Tewksbury, Mass.) scored two of the three runs, as Big Blue posted one in each of the first, third, and fourth innings.

Junior Maegen Johnson (Standish, Maine) and first-year Amanda Vaudreuil (Windham, N.H.) recorded RBI singles for the Nor'easters, who return to Maine to begin The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) play on Wednesday against Western New England College (3 p.m.).
