RINDGE, N.H. -- Sophomore Zach Lokey (Elizabethtown, Pa.) scored off a feed from classmate Sean Sullivan (Worcester, Mass.) with 40 seconds left in regulation to pull the University of New England men's ice hockey team into a 2-2 tie with Franklin Pierce University, which is how the non-league contest at Ritchie Ice Arena ended after the five-minute overtime period Friday night.

Big Blue is now 2-6-2 heading into the winter break, while the Ravens sit at 1-5-3 overall.

UNE got an extra attacker and notched the equalizer moments later as Lokey tallied his fifth marker of the season late in the third. The Nor'easters held a 4-1 edge in shots during the ensuing overtime stanza, but neither team could move in front.

The visitors controlled play in the second period, amassing a 26-4 advantage in shots, but FPU goalie Dave O'Brien came up big to make 25 saves in the frame. UNE did break through with 2:04 to go in the period, as first-year Mike Chase (Falmouth, Maine) converted a pass from senior Scott McManaman (Amherst, Nova Scotia).

The Ravens got two in the first period off plays set-up by Dino Federico -- the first a power play goal by Brandon Dennis at the 7:43 mark. Adam Dallaire doubled the margin with 1:40 still on the clock.

O'Brien finished with 49 stops, while his counterpart, sophomore Ian Edwards (Linden, Mich.), posted 19 saves.

Big Blue is back at it again on January 7 with a home date against Suffolk University.
