WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- The University of New England women's volleyball team finished its weekend at the 31st Annual Crabtree Invitational with a 3-0 victory against Bridgewater State University on Saturday afternoon at Geissler Gymnasium. UNE posted a 3-1 record at the event hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University to earn the runner-up honor.
The Nor'easters (8-11) completed the sweep of Bridgewater State (8-13) with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-13.
Sophomore
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) earned all-tournament accolades after racking up 27 assists, 13 digs and four service aces. She has now four consecutive double-doubles.
Junior
Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) had a strong outing at the net, accumulating 12 kills and coming up with three blocks.
First-year
Leah Janelle (Madbury, N.H.) played a solid all-around match with eight kills, 11 digs and five service aces. Sophomore
Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) was credited with eight kills, while sophomore
Kirsta Adie (Tyngsboro, Mass.) dug out 17 balls.
The Nor'easters will look to continue their recent string of success when they play a Commonwealth Coast Conference match at Curry College on Wednesday evening (6 p.m.).
