BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England women's volleyball team racked up 36 kills and 20 service aces as it defeated the University of Southern Maine Saturday morning at the Campus Center in straight sets, winning by margins of 25-8, 25-5, and 25-4.

Winners of six of their last seven, the Nor'easters (10-11) inched closer to the .500 mark, while the Huskies dropped their 16th match in as many starts.

Senior Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) won 13 points with seven kills and six service aces to pace UNE, which hit a robust .596 for the match. Sophomore Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) contributed a match-best eight kills. First-year Leah Janelle (Madbury, N.H.) and sophomore Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) registered seven and six, respectively. Sophomore Ashley Thibodeau (Nashua, N.H.) distributed 25 assists for Big Blue, while junior Jackie Stone (Saginaw, Mich.) served up six winners.

Senior Hannah Patterson (Londonderry, N.H.) and first-year Nicole Hansen (Biddeford, Maine) had two kills apiece for Southern Maine.
