FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The University of New England women's swimming team took part in the annual Bob Mowerson Spring Meet held Friday at the Swimming Hall of Fame in Florida. The Nor'easters finished 5th out of nine Division III team competing in the event; 10th of 14 in the entire field, which included institutions from all three divisions.

Junior Lizzie Wareham (Osterville, Mass.) garnered 13 of the team's 29 points with a second-place showing in the Division III 50-meter butterfly. Her time of 32.72 was only bested by Dickinson College first-year Rachel Williams, who clocked a time of 32.43.

In the 50-meter breaststroke, junior Sara Shea (Peabody, Mass.) took sixth place (39.55), just over two seconds behind Albion College senior Ashley Collins (37.38).

Sophomore Meaghan Arsenault (Methuen, Mass.) also recorded a top-10 finish, coming in seventh in the 50-meter backstroke.

UNE returns to Biddeford for the first of three straight home meets next Saturday (Jan. 15) against Gordon College (1 p.m.).
