BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Senior Jason Schneider (Littleton, Mass.) scored on the power play with 53 seconds elapsed in overtime to give Babson College a 5-4 win over the University of New England in an ECAC East men's ice hockey game played Friday night at the Babson Skating Center.

Trailing 4-2 midway thru the third period, the Nor'easters came roaring back behind goals from sophomores Tyler Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine) and Russ Franey (York, Maine) to tie the score. Sophomore Scott McManaman (Amherst, Nova Scotia) set-up Fleurent at the nine-minute mark, then Franey notched the equalizer at 16:08 on a feed from sophomore Adam Laite (Sydney, Nova Scotia).

Fleurent and Franey got the Nor'easters off to a strong start, each scoring a goal in the opening period as UNE grabbed a 2-1 advantage. Sophomore Ryan Smith (Lynnfield, Mass.) accounted for the Beavers' tally in the frame.

Babson would seemingly grab control late in the second with three scores in the final 4:58. Sophomore PT Donato (Arlington, Mass.) went back-to-back 1:51 apart before first-year Connor Berto (Lake Forest, Ill.) capped the flurry at 17:56.

The Beavers appeared to be cruising to victory from there until UNE charged back in the third.

First-year goaltender Connor Brogan (Hershey, Pa.) had 38 stops for the Nor'easters (2-12, 0-10). McManaman finished with a pair of assists while junior Ted Fabian (Oakland, Maine) and first-years Sean Sullivan (Worcester, Mass.) and Matt Del Giudice (Oakland, Maine) were credited with assists on UNE's two first-period goals.
