Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Maine) registered a match-high 12 kills while first-year setter
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) handed out 28 assists, as the University of New England volleyball team eased its way to a 3-0 win over the University of Maine Presque Isle in play at the UMaine Farmington Invitational Saturday at Dearborn Gymnasium.
The Nor'easters breezed to victory, winning by set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-13 to improve their record to 7-5.
Curran added a pair of solo blocks and two aces while hitting .375 (12-3-24) for the match. Senior
Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) and sophomore
Lindsey Cashell (Merrimack, N.H.) added seven kills apiece up front for UNE. Edwards also matched her career high with a team-best eight digs.
Along with her match-best 28 assists, Kuehl contributed three aces and seven digs. First-year
Nicole Kalinowski (Tucson, Ariz.) served up three aces.
Allison MacDonald (Antigonish, Nova Scotia) and Amanda Moore (Seattle, Wash.) each had three kills to lead the way for UMPI (1-6).
