Nor'easters rally to pull out a draw at Regis

Rookie Kyle McGlone tied the game late to help UNE grab a point in conference play

WESTON, Mass. -- University of New England first-year Kyle McGlone (Peabody, Mass.) scored in the 72nd minute as the Nor'easters overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit to play to a 1-1 double-overtime draw with Regis College in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer match played Saturday afternoon.

Regis established a 1-0 advantage on a Sean McDonough goal in the 33rd minute. 

The Pride would lead until late in the second half when McGlone notched an unassisted goal, his second tally of the week.

Neither team would be able to get the ball into the back of the net during the two 10-minute overtime sessions. UNE outshot Regis 4-0 in overtime to finish the contest with a 17-7 margin in that category.

The game was marred by a total of 10 cautions and ejections, including a pair of red cards on the host Pride.

UNE (2-2-2, 0-1-1 TCCC) senior goalkeeper Jon Planer (Yarmouth, Maine) earned a tie despite having to make zero saves on the afternoon. His counterpart -- Ryne Tillman -- made nine saves for Regis (3-3-1, 0-1-1).

The Nor'easters will look to climb over the .500 mark Tuesday when they head to Beverly, Mass. to take on Endicott College in a 6:30 p.m. start.
