NYU-Polytechnic charges back to overtake UNE, 3-2

Sophomore Lindsey Cashell reached double-digits in kills to pace the UNE attack

BRISTOL, R.I. -- Down two sets to zero, NYU-Polytechnic roared back to take the final three (25-14, 25-11, 15-11) for a 3-2 victory over the University of New England in morning match at the Roger Williams University Invitational.

For the Nor'easters, sophomore Lindsey Cashell (Merrimack, N.H.) posted a team-high 11 kills, while classmate Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) came up with nine and six total blocks. 

First-year setter Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) had a solid match with 19 assists and three service aces. Defensively, first-year libero Kirsta Adie (Tyngsboro, Mass.) dug out 27 balls, and sophomore Jackie Stone (Saginaw, Mich.) added 15 to go with her three aces at the service line for UNE (3-1)

Meredith Shipman and Victoria Kalvert combined for 25 kills to pave the way for NYU-Polytechnic (3-5).
